About the event
Workshop on opening the pelvis with Iyengar supports
•
In our Western societies, we give little importance to the pelvis, even though this area is the central element of our body.
•
Anatomically it is the place of transmission between the lower limbs, the trunk, and the spinal column by the iliopsoas muscles.
•
Physiologically it is the crossroads of many lymphatic, nervous and endocrine channels responsible for our homeostasis.
•
Emotionally, the pelvis would be considered in yoga as the cradle of emotions, in which different emotions would be housed that we would gain from rebalancing.
•
Lack of mobility in the pelvic joints has repercussions on the muscles in the hips, which become stiff, hard, shortened and can create too much arching or over-stressing of the lower back, which is the source of many back problems.
•
Pelvic stiffness can also affect the knee joints. It is essential to keep these joints flexible, mobile and stable, as well as to fluidify this area to evacuate stagnant "energy" (for lack of better terminology).
•
Work on the hips could therefore participate in different rebalancings in a holistic approach. • In addition, the pelvis constitutes the foundation of the alignment of many yogic postures. To have a good understanding and a lasting impact on the pelvis, it is important to come and work on it as a whole.
•
We will first seek to become aware of the tensions and blockages in the internal organs, hips and lower back, all closely linked.
•
Then in a second step we will come to mobilize the joints with the aim of creating maximum relaxation and space using the Iyengar props.
